Getting Started

Cancel your n8n subscription after migrating to AIA

This guide only applies to legacy users who previously used n8n workflows (like Hermes SDR) before migrating to AI Acquisition's native AI SDR. If you've never used n8n or set up external workflows, you can skip this article.

Overview

After migrating to AI Acquisition's native AI SDR, you no longer need your n8n subscription or the Hermes SDR workflow. This guide shows you how to confirm your migration is complete, disable the Hermes workflow, and cancel your n8n subscription.

AI Acquisition's built-in AI SDR replaces all n8n workflows. Once migrated, your replies, bookings, and SDR tasks run natively without external automation.

Before you cancel

Confirm your migration is complete

Verify the AI SDR is active in your AI Acquisition workspace:

  1. Navigate to AI SDR in your workspace sidebar

  2. Check that the Auto Agent Run toggle is ON in Settings

  3. Confirm recent activity appears in your AI SDR Inbox (replies processed natively)

  4. Verify no error messages about missing integrations

Do not cancel n8n until you see active AI SDR processing in your workspace. If your inbox is empty or the toggle is off, contact support before proceeding.

Export any custom workflows

If you created custom n8n workflows beyond Hermes SDR, export them before canceling:

  1. Log in to your n8n account at n8n.io

  2. Go to Workflows and select each custom workflow

  3. Click the three-dot menu and choose Download

Save these files locally. You can recreate logic using AI Acquisition's Knowledge Base and Resources if needed.

Step 1: Disable the Hermes SDR workflow

Stop the legacy workflow to prevent conflicts:

  1. Log in to your n8n account at n8n.io

  2. Navigate to Workflows

  3. Find the workflow named Hermes SDR

  4. Click the workflow to open it

  5. Toggle the Active switch to OFF

If you don't see the Hermes SDR workflow (common if your Virtual Assistant set it up), you can proceed directly to canceling your subscription. The workflow will stop when your account is deactivated.

Step 2: Cancel your n8n subscription

Option 1: Cancel via Billing (keeps account active until end of period)

  1. Log in to n8n.io

  2. Click your profile icon in the top right

  3. Select Settings or Billing

  4. Find your active subscription and click Cancel Subscription

  5. Select a cancellation reason when prompted

  6. Confirm the cancellation

Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period, then automatically deactivate.

Option 2: Delete account immediately

  1. Log in to n8n.io

  2. Go to SettingsAdmin Panel

  3. Scroll to the Danger Zone section

  4. Click Delete Account

  5. Confirm the deletion

Deleting your account removes all workflows and data immediately. Export any workflows first (see "Before you cancel" above).

What to expect

After canceling:

  • You'll receive a confirmation email from n8n within 24 hours

  • Your account will remain accessible until the end of your billing period (Option 1) or be deleted immediately (Option 2)

  • No further charges will occur after your current period ends

Step 3: Test your AI Acquisition setup

Confirm everything works without n8n:

  1. Go to AI SDR in your workspace

  2. Send a test email to a campaign (or wait for natural incoming replies)

  3. Verify the AI SDR processes the reply in the Inbox

  4. Check that bookings and follow-ups trigger as expected

Your AI SDR should handle all tasks previously managed by Hermes.

Troubleshooting

I don't see a "Cancel Subscription" button

Common causes:

  • Unpaid balance: Resolve any outstanding invoices in Billing before canceling

  • Free plan: Free n8n accounts don't have subscriptions to cancel. You can delete the account instead

  • Third-party billing: If you signed up through a partner, contact that provider to cancel

If the button is still missing, contact n8n support directly.

AI SDR isn't processing after I canceled n8n

Check these settings:

  • Verify your email and calendar integrations are connected in Settings → Integrations

  • Confirm your plan includes AI SDR access (Pro or higher)

  • Check that Auto Agent Run is enabled in AI SDR settings

If issues persist, contact AI Acquisition support with details about when you canceled n8n and which workflows were active.

I had customizations in Hermes—will I lose them?

Yes. Custom prompts, logic, or integrations in the Hermes workflow won't transfer automatically. You can add some of this to the AI Acquisition platform:

  • Add business and product information to your Knowledge Base

  • Configure reply handling in AI SDR Settings

  • Upload relevant resources to improve AI responses

Can I reactivate n8n later if needed?

If you cancel (Option 1), you can reactivate before your billing period ends by logging in and restoring your subscription. If you delete your account (Option 2), you'll need to create a new n8n account and rebuild workflows from scratch.

Most users don't need to reactivate. AI Acquisition's native AI SDR handles all standard SDR tasks without external tools.
