Overview

Deals represent sales opportunities in your CRM, tracking revenue potential as prospects move through your sales pipeline. This guide walks through creating a new deal and filling in all the key details.

Before creating a deal, make sure you have contacts and companies added to your CRM to link them to your deal.

Creating a Deal

Step 1: Open the Deal Creation Form

Navigate to CRM > Deals from the sidebar. Click the + Add Deal button in the upper right corner of the deals dashboard.

Dark-themed CRM dashboard displaying the 'Podcast Funnel' pipeline with stages like 'Positive Response'. The top filtering area includes the '+ Add Deal' button next to 'Import Deals' and search options.

Step 2: Enter Deal Name

Type a descriptive name for your deal. This should clearly identify the opportunity, such as a company name or project description.

'Create Deal' modal open on dark CRM dashboard background. The 'Deal Name' field is filled with 'Big Deal', with additional fields like Amount (10000), Win Probability (50%), Pipeline ('Podcast Funnel'), and Stage ('Positive Response') visible.

Deal Name is a required field. Your deal won't save without it.

Step 3: Enter Deal Amount

Enter the potential revenue for this deal as a numeric value. This helps track total pipeline value and forecast revenue.

'Create Deal' modal with 'Deal Name' ('Big Deal'), 'Amount' ('10'), 'Win Probability (%)' ('50'), 'Pipeline' ('Podcast Funnel'), and 'Stage' ('Positive Response') filled. Empty fields include Currency ('Select currency...').

Step 4: Select Currency

Choose the currency for this deal from the dropdown menu.

Step 5: Set Win Probability

Enter the estimated percentage likelihood (0-100%) that this deal will close successfully. This value may auto-populate based on your selected pipeline stage.

'Create Deal' modal with 'Win Probability (%)' updated to '67', Amount ('100'), Currency ('USD'), Pipeline ('Podcast Funnel'), and Stage ('Positive Response').

Step 6: Select Pipeline

Choose which sales pipeline this deal belongs to. Pipelines organize your deals into different sales processes.

'Create Deal' modal displaying 'Pipeline' ('Podcast Funnel') selected, alongside Win Probability ('67'), Currency ('USD'), Amount ('100'), and other fields.

Pipeline is required. If you don't have any pipelines set up, you'll need to configure them in Settings > CRM > Pipelines first.

Step 7: Select Stage

Choose the current stage of this deal within the selected pipeline. Available stages depend on your pipeline configuration and represent where the deal is in your sales process.

'Create Deal' modal with open 'Stage' dropdown listing options like 'Positive Response', 'Podcast Call Booked', and 'Discovery Call Booked'; prior fields like Pipeline ('Podcast Funnel') filled.

Step 8: Add Deal Source

Select or enter where this deal originated, such as LinkedIn, referral, inbound lead, or another source. This helps track which channels are generating opportunities.

'Create Deal' modal with 'Source' field filled as 'LinkedIn', Stage ('Discovery Call Booked'), Pipeline ('Podcast Funnel'), and other upper fields completed.

Step 9: Assign Deal Owner

Select the team member responsible for managing this deal.

Search for and select contacts to associate with this deal. These should be the people involved in the sales opportunity.

Search for and select the company associated with this deal. This links the deal to the organization you're selling to.

Step 12: Save Your Deal

Once all required fields are filled, click the Create Deal button to save. Your deal will appear on the kanban board in the stage you selected.

After creating your deal, you can add tasks, notes, and track activity from the deal detail page. You can also move deals between stages by dragging them on the kanban board.
