Overview
Adding companies to your CRM helps you track organizations, link contacts and deals, and manage your B2B sales pipeline. This guide shows you how to manually add a company record.
Company records can be linked to contacts, deals, tasks, and notes. Consider starting with companies before adding individual contacts for better organization.
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
An active workspace with member permissions
Completed email verification and onboarding
Add a Company
Step 1: Navigate to the Companies Page
From your dashboard, click CRM in the sidebar, then select the Companies tab.
Step 2: Click "Add Company"
Click the + Add Company button in the top right corner.
Step 3: Enter Company Details
A modal will appear. Fill in the company information:
Company Name (required): Type the name of the company.
Description (optional): Add a brief description of the company.
Industry (optional): Specify the company's industry.
Number of Employees (optional): Enter the company size.
Step 4: Save the Company
Click Add Company to save the record.
You'll see a green success message, and the company will appear in your companies table.
Next Steps
After adding a company, you can:
Click on the company name to open the detail view
Add websites and social media links
Link contacts (People) to the company
Create deals associated with the company
Add tasks and notes
For bulk company imports, use the "Import Companies" button to upload a CSV file instead of adding companies one at a time.
Common Issues
Duplicate Company Names
The system allows duplicate company names. If you accidentally create duplicates, select both records in the table and use Bulk Actions > Merge Records to combine them.
Validation Errors
If you see an error message, check that:
Company Name is filled in (this is required)
Number of Employees is a positive number (if entered)
The "Add Company" button will be disabled until all fields are valid.
